Teddy Bear Day – Yay for teddy bears! This is one toy that department stores will never have to worry about selling, no matter how many new electronics and video games are introduced. Every child loves their teddy. This is especially true if the child got it from someone important. I know that out of all the teddy bears I once owned, the ones that mean the most to me are the ones given to me by my parents and grandparents. I still have SOME of my teddy bears. Unfortunately, against my will, my collection had to be reduced throughout the years. So, since it’s Teddy Bear Day, I can’t think of a better way to celebrate than by picking up a teddy bear for the special toddler in your life who you have a significant relationship with. If you feel anything like I do about my teddy bears, then you know how much it’ll mean to him/her when they’re adults and looking for something to hold on tight too just like when they were children. It almost brings a tear to my eye. I hope you’re not crying because I still haven’t offered you the deal of the day at One Step Ahead. Save 10% on discounted children’s teddy bears, stuffed animals and toys when you use One Step Ahead coupons and spend $50 or more.

Wonderful Weirdos Day – Today’s holiday is in no way poking fun at anyone who is on the eccentric side. Look at the title of today’s holiday – we’re embracing the odd and uncanny and that’s super exciting to me! I may not look eccentric and wild; however, my close (and I mean CLOSE) friends will tell you I’m a crazy and I tend to do things out of the norm. In that sense, I’m a wonderful weirdo. What about you? Do you hate playing it safe and take risks that make the people around you question your sanity? That’s good…no, that’s GREAT because today is your day to do anything in the world you want because no one can judge you for it’s Wonderful Weirdos Day! I have one little favor to ask of you. You can do whatever your little heart desires; just make sure you look good doing it. That’s why you need to check out Bluefly for amazing deals and brand name fashions for anyone who is on a budget. Save 10% on Dolce and Gabbana, Fendi, Prada and Gucci apparel, shoes and handbags when you use Bluefly coupons and spend $100 or more!

September 9th - It was on this day in history in 1950 that the TV laugh track was first used by Hank McCune. I wish there was a laugh track that followed me around throughout my life…that sounds fun. Every time I say something funny, I’d have a ripple of laughter in the background. And when I say something really clever, outwitting someone else, there would be a loud applause. Well, I could go on with this all day, but we’ve got to get to the good stuff – savin’ money! (This is when the crowd goes wild with excitement.)

1977 – NHL Great Gordie Howe Retires - Known as Mr. Hockey, Gordie Howe paved the way for athletes behind him, but made sure the records he set were severely high. Gordie Howe was the first hockey player to score over 1000 goals – his career total was a whopping 1,071, which would later be beat by none other than Wayne Gretzky (1,072) who idolized Gordie Howe as a child.  Gordie Howe was also the very first recipient of the NHL Lifetime Achievement Award in 2008. If you’re an avid hockey player, then push yourself to the limits like Gordie Howe did to set some records. For the ultimate performance-oriented hockey gear, head over to Hockey Giant. Discover discount skates, hockey sticks, goalie masks, protective gear all by brand names like Bauer, Koho, Nike Eddy, Easton and more. Slash 5% off your purchase total by redeeming are exclusive Hockey Giant coupons.

Famous Birthday

Michael Keaton, 57 – He starred in famous films like Batman, Beetlejuice and Jack Frost.  My favorite of the three? Beetlejuice, of course! But I know there may be way more Batman fans out there. So, these coupons will make us both happy. Make your way over to BuyCostumes for discounts on Halloween costumes. Redeem exclusive BuyCostume coupons for an additional 10% off when you spend $50 or more.
