October 31st - It was on this day in history in 834 that All Hallows Eve was first celebrated. There are many explanations as to the origins of this holiday, but the one that makes most sense to me is the one derived from Celtic culture. It was a celebration of the end of summer. It was also believed that both good and evil spirits roamed around on this night, so candy was left in front of homes to pacify evil spirits and in turn ensure a good harvest the next year.  So obviously the most common costumes worn on Halloween are devil costumes, witch costumes, demon and ghost costumes. So what will you be tonight? If you weren’t prepared for this year, you still have next year. And right now, you’ll find the hottest deals at Costume SuperCenter! John Candy 1950 - 1994 - I loved him in Planes, Trains & Automobiles, Uncle Buck and even in Home Alone (even though he had a small part, it was the  most cheerful one).
