Saxophone Day - Badoo bada badooo! Sorry, that was my saxophone impression. I should know since I proudly played the saxophone for 3 years in high school. Man, do I miss playing it! I may not be a child psychologist; however, I can’t stress the importance of children playing instruments when they’re young. It’s been proven that children who play instruments are more focused and perform higher on test scores and in school overall. Fascinating, huh? That’s why it’s important for elementary schools and high schools to have a music program. Now enough about that, today is all about the saxophone. This classical instrument is part of the woodwind family and was created by Adophe Sax in 1840. There are also four types of saxophones, which all range in sound and size: soprano, alto (the one I played), tenor and baritone. No matter what sound, size or name it has, saxophones all produce one thing: an amazing soothing sound. On Saxophone Day, I say you check out Instrument Pro, whether you play it or another instrument from the woodwind family. Marooned Without a Compass Day - Hmm, why do I get the feeling that this holiday is directed towards me? Yes, it’s true; I have no sense of direction whether I’m driving, walking, biking (I don’t really bike)…you get the picture! It gets so bad that I sometimes waste more gas figuring out where I need to go and how to get there. The funniest and saddest part…I get lost in my own neighborhood, an area I’ve lived in for 22 years of my life. I take the longest routes and sometimes make circles around my destination point. I also get lost in malls that I’ve been to at least 20 or more times, and I usually find myself at the mall map directory. In a sense, I live out today’s holiday pretty much every day! How is your sense of direction? Perhaps you don’t really care if you’re lost and stranded. That’s a great attitude to have except it’s unrealistic. We’ve all got something called reality to get back to and can’t stay lost forever. On Marooned Without a Compass Day, you and I both should check out JC Whitney. Save 10% on discount Zumo, TomTom and Pharos GPS and navigation systems on orders of $100 or more when you use JC Whitney coupons.
