Loosen up, Lighten up Day - Hey…it’s FRIDAY. You heard the holiday…Loosen up, Lighten up! It’s the end of the week, and you get to spend your whole weekend relaxing. You deserve it after working so hard, day in and day out. So just loosen up and lighten up a little. Don’t be soo tense, you know? Did you sense the sarcasm in my voice? Well, I know it could be a little annoying when people tell you to do one or both of these things…and at the same time? How dare they! Really, I don’t like being told to lighten up or loosen up. I’d rather do it at my own pace. So maybe we can interpret this holiday in a different way. It’s the weekend so in order to really live out our weekend to the fullest, we should put everything to the back burner and live it (whatever you find yourself doing) up! Sounds like loads of fun. If you’re like me and your idea of loosening and lightening up is relaxing in the comfiest clothes watching TV or a good movie, then I’ve got a special treat for you waiting for you at Hanes. Save 15% on discount Hanes apparel, intimates and basic essentials for the whole family when you use Hanes coupons.
National American Teddy Bear Day - Aw…teddy, we meet again! Today is quite different though because today is teddy’s birthday. He’s said to be 103 years old. Since we’re celebrating the American Teddy Bear, it’s important to shed light on where exactly the first teddy bear originated. It was back in 1902. President (Teddy) Roosevelt went hunting and while he was the most unsuccessful hunter, other members of his team decided to tie a bear cub to a tree and encouraged the President to take shots at it (how awful). Roosevelt refused and spared the cub’s life. A journalist wrote an article about it and included a rough sketch of what he thought the bear looked like. It was then that a store owner’s wife asked her husband to stitch a bear to resemble the bear in the sketch. From then on, the first stuffed bear was called “Teddy’s Bear,” in honor of the President. And that, my friends, is how the American teddy bear was created. Today on National American Teddy Bear Day, I say you check out Target for amazing deals.
