Occult Day - Oooh, very very spooky! It’s Occult Day which means we’re celebrating everything mysterious and unnatural today. With Halloween being long over (sigh), we have the opportunity to have another spooktacular day. Personally, I love this topic because it’s intriguing and is scary in the kind of way that isn’t really obvious. It makes you think about what else is out there and gives you a sense of the unknown. I once took a class in university that dealt with the paranormal, new age and conspiracy theories. I loved that class because it really opened my eyes to this whole new set of ideas that were out there. Who needed Halloween when every week in that class scared me out of my wits?! Not everyone loves this topic; however, it is Occult Day, so you can’t really do anything except celebrate. Come on it’s fun and it doesn’t have to be totally spooky. The easiest thing you can do today is read your horoscope and discover new and interesting things about your astrological sign. Mickey Mouse Day - Speaking of magical, it’s also Mickey Mouse Day and we’re celebrating his 80th birthday this year. Man, Mickey is one 80 year old who looks AMAZING for his age! Don’t you think? Wow…we should be so lucky to look like Mickey on our 80th birthdays folks. Regardless, Mickey Mouse has grown up with most of us including our grandparents which is pretty amazing. All these years later and people can’t resist the joy and wonder this little mouse brings into your heart. He’s also a huge celebrity and a major icon. I named all my cats after Mickey, that’s how much I loved him! I was lucky enough to meet him when I was 6 years old in Disneyland.
