New Year’s Eve – 10, 9, 8, 7, 6 …Hey, look at that, it’s already New Year’s Eve! It feels like just yesterday I was complaining about how fast Christmas came and went. And now it’s time to say buh-bye to 2008 and hello to 2009. New Year’s Eve or December 31st marks the end of the Gregorian calendar year. When I was younger and wasn’t allowed to go out for New Year’s, I’d watch the Times Square New Year’s Eve Bash with Dick Clark. The ball drop at 12am is so well known around the world. It’s not New Year’s for me unless I see that ball drop. This is something I’d love to see in person I just haven’t had the chance to get around to it yet…argh. Whatever you do on New Year’s Eve, I say you make it as memorable as you can. Hopefully you listened to my suggestions leading up to the day and picked out your best outfit, shoes, accessories oh, and um, date! If you decided to take the less expensive route and stay in, then be sure to tune into my fave New Year’s Eve special and give your family and friends a call to wish them a Happy New Year. Heck, make it a resolution to call friends and family more this year! I have just the place for you to check out, Hello Direct. No Interruptions Day – Oh man, I hate interruptions. I hate everything to do with the word interruption. I hate when my plans get interrupted, when I get interrupted, etc. etc. OK, I’m sure you get it! Interruptions drive me bananas. And how ironic it is to see No Interruptions Day on December 31st. Hmmm, I wonder why? I bet people get pretty angry when their New Year’s plans get interrupted by the weather, unexpected company or cancellations. Since you’re probably already on your way out from work and have your plans ready to go, maybe you can use my suggestion for next year. To ensure no interruptions for next year, plan a year in advance. Yeah, you heard me. Spend New Year’s somewhere else next year so you won’t have to worry about anything interrupting your plans. It’s genius! Get a group of people together or you and your partner and party in a foreign country. You already know how your city/country celebrates, so celebrate somewhere new. Viator has the best selection of New Year’s Eve trips around the world. Save 7% on New York City, Hawaii, Australia and other trips and tours to celebrate New Year’s when you use Viator coupons.
