Dress up Your Pet Day – Although many people have pets or are animal lovers, not everyone enjoys dressing up their pet. They see it as weird or wrong. When my dog was little enough, we used to dress him in little boots and winter coats for the winter especially because his paws would get cold. Trust me, he hated wearing these ridiculous things; however, it did keep him from getting sick and coming inside with his wet paws! You can’t deny how popular this trend is in Hollywood nowadays. The pooch has become a red carpet accessory, and you better believe they’re dressed to the nines! Every time I think of this obsession, I think of the movie How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. The part that cracks me up is when Kate Hudson shows up at Matthew McConaughey’s office with their new puppy, a Chinese Crested poodle, which is decked out in Burberry pet gear. Recently, I went shopping with my friend who is getting a puppy and we couldn’t believe the selection of pet clothes. We saw hair bows, Santa hats, capes, organic tees and bandanas. Mind you, my dog has 3/4 of the things I mentioned. Well, that’s besides the point! For all your pet apparel and accessories, discover Petco. National Hot Pastrami Sandwich Day – MmMm. When I think of this type of sandwich, I think of two things: New York City and Joey Tribbiani. Why? Well because every time I sit down and watch Friends, Joey is eating a sangwich (as he calls it) and I have heard him say before he was eating hot pastrami on rye. The other thing I think of is New York City because it’s one of the top foods to have when visiting the Big Apple. I have not tasted a hot pastrami sandwich because I haven’t really gotten around to it yet! Pastrami is a lean meat cut from the brisket. In North America, pastrami is a popular choice on deli menus and is usually found in a Ruben sandwich. The traditional way to serve pastrami is with coleslaw, cheese and pickles. YUM! Now I said I never tried pastrami; however, I have tried its equivalent, salami and do enjoy it very much. In fact, it was very much a part of my upbringing because it is an Italian staple food item. Now I’m sure all this talk about pastrami on rye has made you remember all the times you took a bite into it.
