Ditch New Year’s Resolution Day – HA HA! Sorry I just couldn’t contain myself! This holiday is so precise. We’re almost 3 weeks in to the New Year, and you’re beginning to rethink your resolutions. I’m sure you were all pumped up and ready to change on New Year’s Eve when you felt the need to tell everyone in the room your resolutions for the year. I bet you feel pressured to carry on with this resolution because you don’t want to be embarrassed in front of your family and friends. Well, this is truly the testing point. If you can make it through today’s holiday without cracking, then your New Year’s resolution was practical and attainable. My New Year’s resolution was to head back to the gym and live a healthier lifestyle. Well, I’m happy to say that lasted a whole ONE DAY! I have a good excuse too. I got sick. So as soon as I feel better, I’m heading back there full force and making up for lost time. In reality, I didn’t ditch my resolution just yet. Check back with me in a month, and I’ll tell you how I’m doing. Back to today’s holiday. Resolutions are all about sticking to your word. So true to my word, I promised you better deals in 2009 and that’s exactly what you’ll get! Check out Smart Bargains to save on your favorite name brands. Kid Inventors Day – Do these kids want to stop making me look bad? My nephew does it all the time. He always manages to do some crazy smart thing to make me look really useless. Argh! So moving onto today’s holiday, Kid Inventors Day is a day to pay attention to all the inventions kids have created in their very short lives. I had to do my research for this because I’m not really familiar with any kid inventions. The three most popular and amazing inventions I came across by kids were: the popsicle, earmuffs and the calculator (OK, well he was 18 years old, not really a kid). Wow! If you’re reading this blog, chances are you’re on your computer. How would you be reading it if it weren’t for the brilliant inventor of the computer AND Internet? In my opinion, I believe every inventor is a genius, no matter how young or old. Inventing something is pretty difficult. Most of the time, an invention comes out of necessity. When I was younger, I used to wish there was cookie delivery. Now I’m so thankful for the fact that Davids Cookies delivers!
