National Inane Answering Message Day – This is truly a silly holiday. I don’t know why people are tempted to call others and say something crazy like “Is your refrigerator running? If not, you better go catch it!” Oh crank/prank calls! They are truly not nice. I don’t enjoy them at all. I’ve had my fair share of pointless and meaningless crank calls in my young life. Pointing to a random name in the phone book is NOT acceptable in my opinion. If you’re a victim of crank callers, there’s nothing you can do except change your phone number. And to all the annoying inane crank callers, stop playing tricks on innocent people. If you really want a laugh, disguise your voice and call someone you know will get a kick out of it, like a friend or sibling. Since we’re on the topic, check out Hello Direct. National Croissant Day – Somehow, I feel French all of a sudden! MmMm. Oh, the croissant (please picture me saying this in a French accent, thanks)! It’s soo good when warm and flaky right out of the oven. The amount of butter in a croissant is perfect. Not too much. Just enough to taste it! Now with any dessert or pastry, if you eat too much of it, you might start looking like it. So that’s why I like having a croissant here and there with a shot of espresso. Traditionally croissants are found in bakeries; however, they are also considered a savory snack. Ham and cheese croissants are a common variety. If you’re having a dinner party, serve up a bunch of croissants with a variety of fillings as hors d’oeuvres. And they’re really easy to make! Check out Cooking.com for croissant recipes plus pick up some baking essentials.
