Absurdity Day - It’s kind of hard to talk about this holiday since some of these silly holidays are 100% absurd and senseless. Nonetheless, it’s my job to help you make sense of everything. Today, however, is quite different. I’m not going to help you make sense of this holiday or anything else for that matter. You just have to go with the flow and welcome absurdity in your life. In my opinion, living in absurdity is a great way to live a stress-free life. Can you imagine not having to wrap your head around things that are really mind boggling and confusing? I would love it! You can participate in today’s holiday by doing any and everything that is completely absurd. Things that really make your jaw drop! There are many things that confuse me; however, the number one thing that screams absurdity to me is paying full price for ANYTHING. Although I find it simply absurd at paying full price, I also find it absurd that I get great deals on quality stuff! It’s very confusing, my friends. Today join in my absurdity and check out senseless deals at FragranceNet. Save 10% on discount Burberry, CK, Jean Paul Gautier and Armani fragrances and colognes when you use FragranceNet coupons.
Name Your PC Day - Talk about absurd…just look at today’s second holiday! Now this is something I don’t do very much of - talk about names. Today is a day to name your PC, whether you believe it or not. And why wouldn’t you? Nowadays people are naming everything…I’m talking everything! So why not name your PC? First you have to ask yourself what kind of relationship you have with your PC. Is it a loving one? Is your PC there for you when you need it most? Next, give it a good look and try a few names out until you say one and it really sticks. Not sure where to start? Never named anything before? Well, today is the day to start! If you’re a single cosmopolite in the city and you feel at times your PC is your best friend or companion, make it official and give it a name. You can’t say “hey you” to it every time you turn it on. Imagine someone saying that to you every time. OK, I’ll stop…the absurdity has really taken hold of me. Today’s holiday is all about doing something special for your PC, young or old, so check out deals at 4 All Memory and give your computer what it really needs - speed and power. Receive free shipping within the US or $8 overnight shipping when you use 4 All Memory coupons.

National Educational Support Professionals Day - This day was first celebrated in 1987 by the National Educational Association. It’s a whole day honoring and representing school support. What would we do without these support workers in schools? I’ve seen them do wonders in a school setting, and both teachers and students depend on them. Teaching is a really difficult profession, with the amount of stress and responsibility they have on their shoulders. Imagine doing it alone! That’s why they have educational support staff that assists them in their classrooms or helps out individual students or groups of children who need the extra attention. We see support professionals everywhere we go, whether that be in hospitals, schools, businesses, etc. If you love assisting and helping from the goodness of your heart, then this profession is for you. Today on National Educational Support Professionals Day, I say you do something special and show the support staff in your community how appreciated they are by checking out Brookstone. Save $15 on office desk accessories, desk organizers and more great gift ideas on orders of $150 or more when you use Brookstone coupons.
Carbonated Beverage with Caffeine Day - Can’t we just say we’re celebrating that good ol’ fashioned drink known as pop, a soft drink or soda? CHEESH! Such a long title for a really short word, with so many names! Regardless, today we are celebrating pop. Pop is the preferred drink of choice among the young and old alike, except me! I cut out pop from my diet a longgg time ago, and I only drink if I’m at a fast food place. Pop just tastes better with fast food! Nowadays, I see the commercials for new soft drinks, and I’m blown away at the amount of options out there. What happened to those traditional soft drinks everyone grew up with? Although I’m too young to remember the old school soda pop my parents used to drink, I do appreciate how they were part of people’s youth. And can I just say: I loved the bottles they came in? You know, those tall glass bottles that are soo 1950s! On Carbonated Beverage with Caffeine Day, I say you give up carbonated pop (it makes you feel bloated) and instead check out CoffeeForLess, because no one can get enough coffee. Save 6% on gourmet coffees, coffee pods, coffee brewers and more when you use CoffeeForLess coupons.

Occult Day - Oooh, very very spooky! It’s Occult Day which means we’re celebrating everything mysterious and unnatural today. With Halloween being long over (sigh), we have the opportunity to have another spooktacular day. Personally, I love this topic because it’s intriguing and is scary in the kind of way that isn’t really obvious. It makes you think about what else is out there and gives you a sense of the unknown. I once took a class in university that dealt with the paranormal, new age and conspiracy theories. I loved that class because it really opened my eyes to this whole new set of ideas that were out there. Who needed Halloween when every week in that class scared me out of my wits?! Not everyone loves this topic; however, it is Occult Day, so you can’t really do anything except celebrate. Come on it’s fun and it doesn’t have to be totally spooky. The easiest thing you can do today is read your horoscope and discover new and interesting things about your astrological sign. Or take this celestial wonder’s (me) idea which isn’t unnatural at all and check out deals at Bluefly! Save 10% on D&G, D.Squared and Hugo Boss apparel and accessories on orders of $100 or more when you use Bluefly coupons.
Mickey Mouse Day - Speaking of magical, it’s also Mickey Mouse Day and we’re celebrating his 80th birthday this year. Man, Mickey is one 80 year old who looks AMAZING for his age! Don’t you think? Wow…we should be so lucky to look like Mickey on our 80th birthdays folks. Regardless, Mickey Mouse has grown up with most of us including our grandparents which is pretty amazing. All these years later and people can’t resist the joy and wonder this little mouse brings into your heart. He’s also a huge celebrity and a major icon. I named all my cats after Mickey, that’s how much I loved him! I was lucky enough to meet him when I was 6 years old in Disneyland. Although Florida is not his original birthplace, it’s as close as I could ever get to the real deal. Seeing as how it’s Mickey Mouse Day, today would be a great day to watch old Disney movies who starred the man or mouse that started it all, Mickey. Or you could check out Disney Shopping where you can get your hands on everything Mickey. Save up to 75% on discount Mickey Mouse figurines, stuffed animals, books, movies and other Disney merchandise when you use Disney Shopping coupons.

Take a Hike Day - Yeah, you heard me! Take a hike. Wait not that kind of hike. I mean like go take a hike literally! When’s the last time you got some exercise in the great outdoors? Well, if the weather is holding up pretty good where you live, then why not take a hike or walk through a forest today? Heck, make it a ritual and incorporate it into your fitness routine (if you have one). I used to love going on nature walks with my class in elementary school. As I got older, I got lazier and now it’s a mission to get me to do anything physical. You should see me walking up a flight of stairs! Hiking is a great cardio workout, and it’s free! You don’t need a fancy gym membership to hike, so get out there already. I do have some recommendations. Number 1 - get a hiking partner who’ll encourage you to hike and keep going, not encourage you to quit early on and pig out at a local fast food restaurant. Number 2 - get some high energy music going in your ears to keep you motivated. And number 3 - check out Eastbay. Save 20% on Adidas, Timberland and Nike apparel and footwear when you use Eastbay coupons.
Electronic Greeting Card Day - You’ve got mail! Well, you better, it’s Electronic Greeting Card Day. How much do I love opening my inbox to see I received a greeting card on my birthday or just because. Unlike the conventional greeting card, electronic greeting cards are more interactive and animated. There’s so many to choose from, and they come in handy so you don’t forget anyone’s birthday or anniversary, ever. If you’re one of those people who live on their computers, then today is your day. Send an e-card to any and everyone you know, in a bunch of different themes. If you lost touch with someone throughout the years, today would be a great day to send ‘em an e-card to make them remember all the good times you shared and how you were nice enough to think of them. And look at it this way, if enough people know about this holiday, you’re bound to get one in your inbox today that is sure to bring a smile from ear to ear. My favorite place to send e-cards: American Greetings. Receive a 30-day free trial so you can send, receive and print e-cards every day when you use American Greetings coupons.

Button Day - There’s nothing more fun and at the same time so simple than buttons. Today on Button Day, there are so many ways to celebrate or interpret it. That’s the magic of buttons - they’re so versatile! First we’ll get the most obvious out of the way - button collections. Does anyone still do this? Yes! And why wouldn’t you? I’m in no way encouraging you to pick up random buttons off the floor from other peoples jackets or sweaters. I’m simply saying if you don’t wear tops or pants that have buttons, take the buttons off and use it another time when you lose a button. It’s so handy, I’m telling you! Buttons are also making a huge comeback in fashion, especially with the presidential race behind us. So how about it, did you wear your political party button proudly (say that 5 times fast) throughout the presidential campaign? If you did, good for you! Today on Button Day, no matter what you think of buttons, they are a true fashion staple detail on clothing. So check out National Jean Company for clothes that have, well um, buttons! Save 10% on Juicy Couture, Citizen’s of Humanity and True Religion denim and apparel when you use National Jean Company coupons.
International Day for Tolerance - Now, if you didn’t know, today is an actual holiday that was created by UNESCO in 1995 to promote awareness of the dangers of intolerance and violence. This day launched a worldwide campaign against intolerance and greater education in schools and continuing education for adults. It’s important that today is recognized by all and that everyone should make the effort to abide by the principals of this day every day, not just today. Another year is almost over (can’t believe it), so look back in the year and recognize the intolerances and injustices that happened throughout the world. War, poverty and injustices are at an all-time high, and it’s important that we do everything we can to support the country we live in by having significant days like this to remind us of what is right and wrong in the world and look toward change and progress. Today I encourage you to take an interest and active role in your country by reading up on world events and issues in your own country. Do that by subscribing to the leading newspaper, USA Today. Get 8 weeks for only $14 on a USA Today subscription when you use USA Today coupons.

I Love to Write Day - I hate playing favorites; however, this one might be the one that tops all other holidays! Other than the fact that I’ve always had a passion for writing, I actually landed my first job doing something I really enjoy. Not many people can say that about their first jobs I bet! I Love to Write Day is a holiday to celebrate exactly what the title says - writing. Its creator John Riddle, teaches the young and old alike the benefits of writing, whether that is a poem, short story, speech or letter. I’m doing it right now, and you should too. It blows me away each time I read a finished project because it amazes me how it all came together. That’s why I never get tired of writing. On I Love to Write Day, please do what the holiday says. It’ll make you feel better knowing you can express yourself in words whenever you put your mind to it. Now for some inspiration, first you have to read something, so check out Magazines.com. Save $5 on discount Vogue, National Geographic, Forbes or Time magazine subscriptions when you use Magazines.com coupons.
National Bundt Pan Day - Bunt, bund, bunk? A Bundt pan is a traditional cake pan with a hole in the center and the cake is usually served upside down. The pan is also registered trademark because of its signature molded shape. Interestingly enough, the Bundt pan was specifically created for a classic German and Austrian coffee cake. Having made many Bundt cakes, I can tell you that they are the easiest to decorate if you really want to make an impression. Because of the molded grooves in the cake, the icing, frosting, sprinkles or whatever else you top the cake with sticks quite nicely to the grooves. Plus, if you’re one of those people who refrain from cutting cake because you hack it up or serve sizes that are too big or too small, all you have to do is follow the lines on the cake that the molded Bundt pan created and everyone has equal sizes. Today on Bundt pan day, there’s only one thing for you to do, check out Sur La Table. Receive free shipping on select items of bakeware, serving and kitchenware when you use Sur La Table coupons.

Loosen up, Lighten up Day - Hey…it’s FRIDAY. You heard the holiday…Loosen up, Lighten up! It’s the end of the week, and you get to spend your whole weekend relaxing. You deserve it after working so hard, day in and day out. So just loosen up and lighten up a little. Don’t be soo tense, you know? Did you sense the sarcasm in my voice? Well, I know it could be a little annoying when people tell you to do one or both of these things…and at the same time? How dare they! Really, I don’t like being told to lighten up or loosen up. I’d rather do it at my own pace. So maybe we can interpret this holiday in a different way. It’s the weekend so in order to really live out our weekend to the fullest, we should put everything to the back burner and live it (whatever you find yourself doing) up! Sounds like loads of fun. If you’re like me and your idea of loosening and lightening up is relaxing in the comfiest clothes watching TV or a good movie, then I’ve got a special treat for you waiting for you at Hanes. Save 15% on discount Hanes apparel, intimates and basic essentials for the whole family when you use Hanes coupons.
National American Teddy Bear Day - Aw…teddy, we meet again! Today is quite different though because today is teddy’s birthday. He’s said to be 103 years old. Since we’re celebrating the American Teddy Bear, it’s important to shed light on where exactly the first teddy bear originated. It was back in 1902. President (Teddy) Roosevelt went hunting and while he was the most unsuccessful hunter, other members of his team decided to tie a bear cub to a tree and encouraged the President to take shots at it (how awful). Roosevelt refused and spared the cub’s life. A journalist wrote an article about it and included a rough sketch of what he thought the bear looked like. It was then that a store owner’s wife asked her husband to stitch a bear to resemble the bear in the sketch. From then on, the first stuffed bear was called “Teddy’s Bear,” in honor of the President. And that, my friends, is how the American teddy bear was created. Today on National American Teddy Bear Day, I say you check out Target for amazing deals. Save $5 on Fisher-Price teddy bears, plush teddy bears and teddy blankets on orders of $50 or more when you use Target coupons.

World Kindness Day - If there’s a holiday theme I love more than food holidays, it has to be holidays that encourage acts of kindness and doing good onto others. It seems we’ve all got places to go and people to see, and it’s very rare to hear someone say “thank you” after another has held the door or elevator for them. Nonetheless, it’s important that we at least try to show some human compassion and be kind to one another. It doesn’t have to be in a big way. As long as you do it from your heart, then you’ve more than completed the task of being kind. Today’s holiday was the result of the first World Kindness Movement conference founded in Japan which declared World Kindness Day November 13th. This is a pretty big deal around the world where there are over 15 member countries who also celebrate this holiday. So wherever you are, you have no excuse not to celebrate. My way of being kind is by telling you about Smart Bargains. Save 10% on discount Christian Dior handbags, Gucci jewelry and Cuisinart appliances when you use Smart Bargains coupons.
National Indian Pudding Day - Now, I bet some of you are totally lost at today’s next holiday. Indian pudding…you haven’t heard of it? Well, that’s because it’s not as popular as it should be. Who am I to talk? I’ve never actually tried it; however, researching this holiday made me quite interested in it. Indian pudding originated in Boston and is a classic New England Thanksgiving dessert. So you know what that means? You can totally serve it at this year’s Thanksgiving. Quite simply, it’s a baked custard (sounds delicious already), made of milk, butter (score!), molasses, eggs, cornmeal and spices are optional. Now, as you start making it, don’t be turned off at its sight. It’s one of those fooling desserts that don’t look half as good as it tastes. Well, Thanksgiving is two weeks away. Are your recipes in order? If not, here’s your reminder to check out Current Catalog for everything you need to make a successful and scrumptious Thanksgiving dinner. Save 10% on discount cookbooks, party supplies and thank you cards on orders of $50 or more when you use Current Catalog coupons.

Postman’s Day - Now, today is Postman’s Day which is usually celebrated in Mexico. However, I’ve decided to use the inspiration of this holiday and talk more about the phrase than the actual holiday in Mexico. Perhaps you’ve heard this saying once or twice when the weather is a bit iffy. For example, if it’s sunny then cloudy with showers, someone would say it’s a “Postman’s Day,” because of the changes in weather they have to deal with while on the job. I have tons of respect for postmen. They’re out there in rain or shine (and blizzard) weather, walking from house to house, delivering your mail. And, they sometimes get attacked by pesky dogs. Today on Postman’s Day, look outside and see if you’re having a “Postman’s Day.” If you see your postman, offer him an umbrella or hot coffee or tea. I always give my postman a cold bottle of water in the blistering summer, so a hot coffee would be perfect in the winter! Speaking of, check out CoffeeForLess so your cupboards can always be stocked with delicious coffee and tea. Save 6% on discount gourmet coffees, teas and brewers when you use CoffeeForLess coupons.
National Pizza with Everything (Except Anchovies) Day - You got that right! How many times were you asked, “How would you like your pizza?” And you responded by saying, “Anything goes, except anchovies!” Well, I know that this rings true for many people, including me! Yuck…anchovies? Talk about killing the taste of pizza (which is my favorite by the way). Well, who am I to talk? Every time I order pizza, I order the same boring thing. I give props to those who can handle the taste of anchovies and still enjoy pizza for what it is…delicious! Pizza is truly a dish that reflects what type of person you are. If you’re adventurous, you’re going to get the works. I’m talking pepperoni, peppers, cheese, olives, pineapple and chicken. If you’re a plain Jane like me, you’re more likely to have one or two toppings. So in a sense, today is really a day where you get to really think about what you want on your pizza. Celebrate today by checking out Restaurant.com. Save 60% on $25 gift certificates and locate a pizza restaurant of your choice in your own neighborhood using Restaurant.com coupons.

Death/Duty Day - As everyone should know today is Remembrance Day or Veteran’s Day which commemorates the end of World War I in 1918 as well pays tribute to those who lost their lives while serving their country. Death/Duty Day is similar in that it brings attention to those who died while on duty. No doubt, this happens still to this day and affects everyone equally as it did back then. Sometimes it’s harder to ask yourself if you have the courage to fight for your country like so many innocent men and women did back then when times and conditions were harder. I can’t imagine what it would be like to be separated from family for so long not knowing if I’d see them again, so I am truly gracious and thankful that there are such men and women in the world who perform these selfless acts to give other people a chance to live in a peaceful world. If you know someone who fought in any war or know someone who lost someone because of it, check out Fleurop. Save 5% on discount international flower delivery of flower arrangements, bouquets and sympathy baskets when you use Fleurop coupons.
National Vanilla Cupcake Day - Now while I am a huge fan of chocolate, I won’t turn down any kind of cupcake, that’s for sure! Cupcakes are my ultimate indulgence, and I could eat ‘em all day which is why I refrain from baking them often. Today, you’re fully encouraged to eat as many cupcakes as you want in as little or as many bites as you want…all day long. I’ve been waiting for a holiday like this! There is really no main reason why we’re celebrating today’s holiday except for the fact that the inventors of silly holidays looked at the November calendar and thought “hmm, there’s really not enough dessert holidays in November.” Hey, no one is complaining here! Now, if you haven’t baked in a while, today would be a great way to bake a batch of cupcakes for yourself, family or if your child needs them for a bake sale. The advantage of making your own cupcakes is that you can frost them with whatever kind of icing you like! For everything you need to make award-winning cupcakes, check out Target. Save $5 on Calphalon cupcake tins, Oneida cupcake carriers and Cupcakes ‘N More Stands on orders of $50 or more when you use Target coupons.
