Look for Circles Day - Have you ever walked around a mall or on the street (obviously you have), looked down and tried not to step on the lines? Oh man! This was the highlight of my visits to the mall until I discovered my knack and passion for shopping. Regardless, today is sort of like that…well, sort of, not really. Look for Circles Day is just another way to spend our lazy Sunday afternoon. Did you love playing Eye Spy when you were a kid? Well, today play with a friend and Eye Spy anything that is a circle. You’ll be playing for hours! Today may seem like a pointless holiday to you; however, I like to see the potential in every holiday I write about, including today’s. When I think of circles, the first two things that pop into my head are polka dots and golf balls. If you enjoy wearing polka dots (come on, who doesn’t love polka dots?) or playing golf, then check out the deals at Bluefly and ProGolf:
- Bluefly Coupons - 10% off Marc New York and Prada apparel and accessories on orders of $100 or more
- ProGolf Coupons - 17% off Callaway golf equipment, Adidas apparel and Odyssey golf clubs
Cookie Monster Day - Yummy yummy in my tummy…it’s Cookie Monster Day! Out of all the characters on Sesame Street, he was my favorite. I liked him so much that for Christmas one year I got Tickle Me Cookie Monster. He was so cute, the way he’d say “More cookies, hehe, haha, hehe, haha!” I can’t name one kid who doesn’t love cookies. There must be something that draws kids to cookie jars. My favorite was Michelle Tanner on Full House when DJ bribed her into Uncle Jesse’s gym bag with a cookie. How evil, yet clever! Since I enjoy baking, making cookies every few weeks is not uncommon for me to do. Usually I’ll make homemade chocolate chip cookies and they come out soft and chewy. Except this one time, I read the recipe wrong and the cookies came out like bricks. I kept wondering why they tasted like that until my mom brought it to my attention that I read the instructions wrong! Celebrate today the old-fashioned way by being just like Cookie Monster and eating tons of cookies from Davids Cookies. Save 15% on discount cookie gift baskets, cookie dough gifts and sugar cookie gifts on orders of $29 or more when you use Davids Cookies coupons.

Plush Animal Lover’s Day - Everyone loves their plush animals they grew up with for whatever reason they found comfort. Some people keep their plush animals as a safety net from growing out of their childhood. Others keep them because perhaps someone close to them gave them a significant plush animal for a birthday or holiday. And then there are those who won’t throw away anything from their childhood. This is wrong…take it from someone who has been a pack rat for years now. I just finally threw away most (not all) of my plush animal toys because they were collecting too much dust and I wasn’t appreciating them as much as I thought I would by displaying them on my shelf. The signature detail of a plush animal is the fluffy, oh-so-soft and velvety feeling you get when you touch it. The feeling is enough to make you want to fall asleep, with the plush animal secured right under your arm. Today on Plush Animal Lover’s Day, check out One Step Ahead for deals on how to bring a little more ‘plush’ in your life. Save 10% on discount plush stuffed animal and toys on orders of $50 or more when you use One Step Ahead coupons.
National Chocolate Day - Woohoo, it’s National Chocolate Day! For me, National Chocolate Day is just an excuse to eat any and every type of chocolate without anyone pointing fingers at me. If you ask me, it came a few days too early because it should really be National Chocolate Day on Halloween. Nonetheless, today would be a great day to do some pre-indulging so that you don’t overdo it on Halloween and you won’t feel bad about it too! Since we’re on the topic of chocolate, I thought I’d talk about how I once wrote a paper about chocolate and how it is taken-for-granted in our society. Every day we go about our daily lives expecting to get our ‘chocolate fix’ for the day without questioning where it came from. What if one day there was no chocolate in the world? What would you do? More importantly, what would I do? So today on National Chocolate Day, I suggest you check out Davids Cookies, and when you take a bite, think about how lucky you are to be enjoying it! Save 15% on gourmet chocolate chip cookie gift on orders of $29 or more when you use Davids Cookies coupons.

Punk for a Day Day - Today is the day where you can be a Punk for a Day…just one day though! Were you into the whole punk-rock thing back when you were growing up? Or maybe you just discovered a really cool punk band in your city. Punk rock first hit the scene in the early to mid 1970s as a sort of attack to mainstream rock ‘n’ roll. Punk is a culture and philosophy. People dress, act and rock a certain way that distinguishes them from the rest of the genres. When I think of punk rock music (and I’m sure you do too), I think of who else…The Ramones! Punk rock is fascinating to me because it’s like a whole subculture that exists in the music industry. Since next week is Halloween (woohoo), maybe you could use the inspiration from this holiday and go as a punk rock singer or a punk! Wolfgangs Vault is the place to go whether you choose to dress up as a punk or are looking for some great punk memorabilia. Save 20% on discounted Ramones, Clash and Green Day vintage rock tees and apparel when you use Wolfgangs Vault coupons.
Sourest Day - This holiday gives me a little chuckle because today we’re encouraged to turn the positives into negatives. Sourest Day wants us to bring out our pessimistic side which is not hard to do if you normally see the cup half empty than half full. As chipper and positive as I may sound at times, I’m sort of a pessimistic person when it comes to my own affairs. Perhaps because I lack confidence. Nonetheless, this holiday is perfect for me because I can have a reason to be pessimistic and I won’t get any slack from anyone. Today can also be interpreted as a holiday to indulge in all things sour like lemons, candy, vinegar and other acidic foods. I may be a sour puss at times; however, I do not enjoy biting into a slice of lemon! Ahh…I can taste it now and I’m doing the “sour face” as we speak! Today you can celebrate tons of ways whether you choose to be bitter (I mean sour) or indulge in sour foods. If you’re not a fan of both and prefer all things sweet, then check out Davids Cookies. Save 15% on discount gourmet cookie and cake gifts on orders of $29 or more when you use Davids Cookies coupons.

October 16th - It was on this day in history in 1923 that Walt Disney Company was formed. I love Disney movies. That’s what so great about Disney films: anyone will enjoy them! If you’re a collector of Disney movies, then head over to Sony Style where you’ll find discounted DVDs on sale. National Cake Decorating Day - This is a holiday I can really relate to. Cake decorating is such a fun and therapeutic way for me to be creative with my time. I’ve always had a knack for baking. Since my mom is a master baker, there was really no surprise when I began baking at the age of 6 with my Easy Bake Oven. Man, that was the greatest gift I ever received till this day. I was first introduced to cake decorating a few years back when I religiously watched this cake decorating show on the Food Network. This got me really interested and I began studying the art of cake decorating. I bought some books, read how-to articles online and practiced, practiced, practiced. My next step - taking a cake decorating class. They teach you so much more tricks and tips. I haven’t baked in a while so today I think I’m going to bake a cake and decorate it using fall colored frosting - chocolate and orange. I encourage you to do the same. Or…if you’re far from creative, then allow Davids Cookies to help you out. Save 15% on gourmet cakes, cheesecakes, cookie desserts on orders of $29 or more and free shipping when you use Davids Cookies coupons.
National Angel Food Cake Day - I know today’s holidays seem a little similar; however, it might just help you gain the confidence to try it out for yourself. Having made angel food cake before, I’m not going to pretend it’s not hard, because it is. It requires tons of preparation, a watchful eye and many ingredients. This is a heavy-duty recipe. To make a light and airy angel food cake, you require 16 egg whites (I told you it was a big recipe) and many other fancy shmancy ingredients like cream of tartar and pastry flour. Don’t be intimidated. If you really want to serve this up to guests and friends over the weekend, make it yourself. A store bought one doesn’t taste the same. Another important element of making this cake the traditional way is baking it in a specific cake pan - normally called a tube pan. It looks like a regular bundt pan, except the sides are a little higher up because the cake does rise quite a bit. If you don’t have one of these pans or are in need of a new mixer, take my advice and check out Overstock. Save $5 on discount bakeware, tube pans and mixers on orders of $100 or more when you use Overstock coupons.

International Frugal Fun Day - Everyone, get your party hats on and get ready to undo a couple of notches off your belt! Today is the day we celebrate the only thing we know how to do - SAVE! Finally, a day to celebrate how great it is to save a little bit of money where you can! From talking to friends and coworkers, we’ve come to the conclusion that it is absolutely ludicrous to drop large amounts of cash on a single item. I have never done this and don’t intend to, except only on big things, like a computer or car. I have never and would never spend a ridiculous amount of money on ONE pair of jeans. On a few pairs of jeans, sure why not? So today, I’m going to help you save on a bunch of essential things: undergarments, entertainment and food (not in any order of importance). Check out these amazing deals at Hanes, iWin and Davids Cookies:
- Hanes Coupons - 15% off discount intimate sleepwear, underwear & loungewear for the whole family
- iWin Coupons - 40% off online arcade, trivia, puzzle & board computer games for adults, teens & kids
- Davids Cookies Coupons - 15% off gourmet cookie gifts & treats on orders of $29 or more plus receive free shipping
WOW…Can you say BARGAINS?!
National Frappe Day - MmMm frappes. I was first introduced to frappes when I started going to an upscale coffee pub. Of course, being a coffee addict, I tend to gravitate towards the coffee frappes. Frappes are probably the most ordered of drinks on the menu and I bet no one knows what frappes really consist of. Frappes are a fancy word for an ice cream milkshake, although cream is used as a substitution to milk. YUM! Sounds better now doesn’t it? I hate to break it to you, if you’ve been enjoying frappes every day for the past few months, it might not be such a great thing after all. Sure they taste delicious and really hit the spot; however, frappes should only be enjoyed as special dessert drinks that you only have once or twice a month maximum. I know, it’s hard for me to understand too. Because it’s National Frappe Day, I say we enjoy the last delectable frappe we’re going to have for a LONGGGGG time. And, I think you should make your own (with milk instead) just so you can drink it without feeling guilty. Take my advice and head over to CoffeeForLess to a splash of caffeine in it. Save 6% on a gourmet and flavored coffees when you use CoffeeForLess coupons.

September 19th - It’s Friiiiiidaaaaaaaaaay! How excited are you to start the weekend? What do you have planned? It’s the last weekend of the summer, so it better be somethin’ memorable! I’m getting together with my girlfriends for one last barbecue bash. Everyone brings their favorite dish and we enjoy a night of mindless fun and over eating. Everyone always looks forward to what I bring. Ha! No, not because I’m a great cook, but because I know where to buy the best goodies. I order desserts from Davids Cookies and have them delivered to whomever’s house we’re going to. See? I don’t slave in the kitchen like everyone else, nor do I arrive carrying a huge bowl of something. Who’s a smart cookie, huh? Speaking of cookies, this time I ordered a bunch of double chocolate, chocolate chip, and peanut butter cookies. They’re all so soft, chewy and delicious. The girls are gonne looooove me! For great savings and quick delivery of delicious cookie gifts, use free Davids Cookies coupons for 15% off AND free shipping!
1960 - Chubby Checkers’ “Twist” Hits #1 - I haven’t gone to a wedding yet where this song hasn’t been played. Of course, the DJ plays it about 30 minutes after an 8-course dinner so that you get a sever cramp in your side and end up dancing like Elaine Bennis from Seinfeld. Nevertheless, it’s a great song that has helped make many memories for me. For great oldies like this one, head over to Sony Style and enjoy discount CDs and DVDs with our free Sony Style coupons.

Alison Sweeney, 32 - She plays Sammy Brady on the day-time soap opera Days of Our Lives. It’s hard to see Alison Sweeney out of character ’cause in real life, she’s such a sweetheart. It’s sooooo weird. And since she’s so gorgeous, I’m feeling like a coupon for beauty products is in order. For a bronze shimmer, shiny golden locks, and a pearly-white smile, make a mad dash over to Beauty.com for magical makeup, haircare, and teeth-whitening products for less. Chocolate Milkshake Day - I particularly love milkshakes and used to have them as a “special treat” growing up. Since you know how much I love chocolate, chocolate milk shakes are my ultimate favorite. As a kid, my mom used to make my milkshake a tad bit healthier, by adding chunks of strawberries. The combination of thick, smooth and chunky was so mouthwatering that you’d have to taste it for yourself to see. Milkshakes are a nostalgic drink/dessert (however you want to classify them) and take people young and old back to their childhood. Don’t you remember sitting in a diner, sipping milkshakes with a bunch of your closest friends. Whenever I couldn’t have a milkshake, I would blow bubbles through a straw in my glass of milk and it would look just like a milkshake. Do you remember doing that? Well, I have a confession…I still do it and I get quite the stares when I’m at a friend;s house or at a restaurant! You know what else I loved to do with my milkshakes? Dip cookies in them! It was heavenly, I tell ya. Head over to Davids Cookies and try it for yourself - you won’t be disappointed. Save 15% on discount gourmet cookie gifts and receive free shipping when you use Davids Cookies coupons.
National Video Games Day - Unlike Video Games Day which was a few months ago, National Video Games Day celebrates a video gamer’s true passion for playing video games. It also encourages everyone to spend the day/night playing video games. I told you before, I’m not really a video gamer myself. Computer video games on the other hand, that’s a different story. First, I start off the game totally disinterested, not really understanding what to do and ready to give up. Give me 5 minutes and I’m completely in the zone. There’s no pulling me away from my computer screen. So in a way, I could totally understand both sides of the situation, video gamers’ mindsets and their parents’ or spouse’s aggravation! Take it from me, you can’t blame them for ignoring you or tuning you out when you’re trying to tell them to take out the trash. They enter another realm; it’s almost an escape from the mundane. See what I mean by clicking your way to iWin. Apply iWin coupons and save 40% on arcade, card, puzzle and video games.
