November 20th - It was on this day in history in 1969 that Pele scored his 1000th soccer goal. That’s a lot of goals considering how challenging it usually is to get through defenders, while trying to remain onside, and looking for the best possible angle to make sure that ball’s placed perfectly for a goal. To do all that 1000 times is a huge accomplishment in my eyes. If your passion for soccer is as intense as Pele’s, then make your way over to Dicks Sporting Goods today for the best soccer gear like cleats, shin guards, apparel and much more. Redeem exclusive Dicks Sporting Goods coupons to score a 15% discount!

1981 - Ringo Releases Stop and Smell the Roses Album - When I’m overtired and visit my doctor to make sure everything’s alright, she smiles at me and says: “Everything’s fine; you just need to learn to relax. Stop and smell the roses, ya know?” Well, I’d love to stop and smell the rose but then my nose tickles, my eyes get inflamed, my throat feels extremely scratchy…and who has time to stop and smell roses anyway? I’m kidding. The message my doctor was relaying to me is the same that’s in this song: our lives are insanely busy, and we often forget to sit back and take a breather sometimes. So, if you’re not a floral-type person, then light some scented candles in your home and put on a nature-sounds CD or some slow jazz. Get all these relaxing products at Target for $5 off when you spend $50 or more. Just redeem free Target coupons to claim this hot offer.

1977 - Major Indoor Soccer League Officially Organized in NYC - I play both outdoor and indoor soccer. Before I ever played indoor soccer, I assumed that it would be a lot easier than outdoor. Man, was I wrong! Indoor soccer takes a lot more ball control as you’re in a much smaller space, and you’re constantly moving - I mean constantly! Plus, there isn’t the slightest breeze to help cool off causing your face to turn a deep beet-purple color from overheating. I will never assume anything about any sport again until I’ve played it. So, for those of you who know exactly what I mean about the difficulty of indoor soccer, use our free coupons from Dicks Sporting Goods for performance-oriented gear that’ll help you play your best and stay cooler. Ellen Pompeo, 39 - She plays Dr. Meredith Grey on Grey’s Anatomy. She’s not my favorite character as she’s way too dramatic and pouty all the time. Instead, I like Cristina - the go-getter. She’s focused, determined and doesn’t stop at anything until she gets what she wants. Her bluntness and coldness make me laugh till I ache in the sides. We all have our own favorite characters on that show. Whether you love Dr. McDreamy, Meredith, Cristina or George, you’ll find them all in the box set for less at Sony Style. November 3rd - It was on this day in history in 1956 that The Wizard of Oz was shown on TV for the first time. Although today I really like this movie, as a child it terrified me. Those evil, talking trees gave me the heebie jeebies. And the Wicked Witch sent chills down my spine, especially her hackling laugh. I was always glad though that it turned out to be a nightmare. My favorite part of the movie was Dorothy’s ruby-red shoes! I loved them so much that my mother bought me a pair just like them. The shoe fetish has stuck me until this day…my closet is stocked with tons of shoes. I love stilettos, knee-high boots, sandals, clogs & more. But I’m not rich, so I shop at Smart Bargains where all types for shoes are on sale for less. Plus, with exclusive Smart Bargains coupons, save 10% on your purchase!

Rachel McAdams, 32 - You may remember her from such films like Mean Girls, The Notebook, and Red Eye. She’s a popular Canadian actress who’s down to earth and completely loveable. The only time you hate her a little is in the movie Mean Girls in which she plays meanie queen-bee Regina George…but that’s just because she’s such a great actress.  I read somewhere once that she has a thing about crooked pictures that drives her crazy. And she’s also a bit of a neat-freak who likes things super organized. Well, there is ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong with that! It actually makes me like her more since she seems even more human. September 26th - It was on this day in history in 1962 that the TV comedy The Beverly Hillbillies premiered on CBS.  My favorite character was Daisy May, aka Granny. Maybe I like her so much because she reminds me of my grandmother. Both women thought they could cure anything with plants and herbs. Gramma used to maintain quite the garden in her backyard. One side was dedicated to veggies, the other to herbs. And the front yard was a gorgeous wonderland of flowers and vines. If you’re an avid gardener, or enjoy the freshest produce at your finger tips, then head over to Park Seed for herbs, houseplants, seeds & bulbs, vegetables and more! Plus, redeem exclusive Park Seed coupons for 10% off everything.

1969 - Beatles Release Abbey Road - This was the eleventh album produced by the Beatles. The album before this one (Get Black) wasn’t very successful as the Beatles tried something new with their music that fans didn’t respond to very well. Abbey Road went back to songs that identified more with their original sound and vibe. Hence, this album became a HUGE hit instantly as fans felt reunited with the band. If you want to unite with the Beatles again and enjoy the good-old days, here’s what I suggest you do: Create a shrine in your home with Beatles posters, vintage tickets, old-school prints and more. Then, turn the lights low, light some incense and pop in the Abbey Road album. Sit back, close your eyes and let your memory take you back…to great times. Here’s where you’ll find all the stuff I mentioned on sale:

September 24th - It was on this day in history in 1845 that the first baseball team was organized. I remember when we’d play baseball for gym in grade school.  For once in my life I wasn’t the last girl picked! My older brother taught me how to swing a bat in a way that was guaranteed to make contact with the ball and send it flying. I was known to hit grand slams and homeruns on a consistent basis. So, when we played baseball for gym, not only was I not picked last, but I was picked first! I just had to share that happy childhood story with you. But now I’m gonna share some smokin’ coupons with you. For baseball equipment like helmets, gloves and baseball bats, head over to Dicks Sporting Goods and redeem free Dicks Sporting Goods coupons for 15% off your entire order.

1895 - 1st Around-the-World Trip by a Woman on a Bicycle - This milestone took about 15 months to accomplish. To be able to say that you took a ride around the world on a bike, well, you’re a superhero in my books.  She must have used more than one bike though. With all the different types of terrains from forests to mountains to roads and more, one bike couldn’t withstand all that! Maybe you won’t take a trip around the world on your bike, but you may want to take a ride on the different routes that nature offers. So, take a cruise over to Sierra Trading Post where you’ll discover an array of brand name mountain bikes & road bikes for less. Plus, get an additional 35-70% off by redeeming exclusive Sierra Trading Post coupons!

Jim Henson, 71 - He was the beloved creator of The Muppet’s. I used to loooove that show. Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, those two other guys in the opera house balcony….aaaaaah memories. The best part about that show was it was something that could entertain both my parents and me. Both adults and children get a kick out of the wacky characters and funny jokes.  Over the years, there were also many Muppet movies that came out. If you’d like to add them to your collection of DVDs, head over to Sony Style. Use our exclusive Sony Style coupons to enjoy a discount on all DVDs or electronics to play them!

National Cheeseburger Day - Cheeseburgers are yet another classic American food. And wouldn’t you know it I have never tasted or ordered a cheeseburger before in my life. When I tell people this, they usually think I’m from outer space. It’s not that I don’t find cheeseburgers delicious, because in my opinion anything topped with cheese is OK in my books! Ever since I was little, I never really gravitated toward hamburgers because I wasn’t ”allowed” to have too much meat (I’m still not allowed). So at birthday parties I would tend to order chicken burgers while everyone ordered cheeseburgers; thus making me feel left out and looking like a health freak and I was only 10! Today we could all celebrate this should be a real holiday on the calendar and throw a cheeseburger party at home or work. You don’t have to be a meat lover to enjoy today’s holiday. Vegetarians and chicken lovers alike can enjoy their version of it as long cheese is the topping! I have the perfect place for you to check out - Omaha Steaks! Save up to 63% on gourmet meat, burgers and prepared meals and receive 12 free burgers when you take advantage of Omaha Steaks coupons.

“Iron Horse” Outraced by Horse Day - If you didn’t know back then (like I’m talking the 1800s), Iron Horses were the names given to the first steam trains. In 1830, the first steam train “Tom Thumb” was well uh outraced by a horse. Ouch! This was a test to show America that a revolutionary new form of transportation was invented to speed up the process of transporting goods and people. And the plan backfired! Who needs a train when horses can do the job faster? I bet that’s what people back then were thinking. Can you imagine being beat at your own game or talent? It’s a bummer. Today we should be inspired and just like trains come back stronger and more powerful then our competition. If you’re training for a marathon, sports team or league, then the old saying “practice makes perfect” is a great way to achieve your goal and outdo your competition. Head over to Dicks Sporting Goods for everything to help you perfect your game and be a champion! Save 15% on discount footwear, sportswear, protective gear and equipment when you use Dicks Sporting Goods coupons.
