History

HP’s company beginnings were humble, founded in a garage in Palo Alto, California by William Hewlett and David Packard in 1939. And the company’s name was chosen over a simple coin toss, destining it to be Hewlett-Packard instead of Packard-Hewlett.

HP focused on various projects throughout the years, specializing in everything from agriculture electronic products to electronic test equipment. But it was in 1966 when HP produced the first series of minicomputers, opening the doors of the computer market. With the series’ success, HP continued to develop new technology and new computer products that make them a leader in the industry today.

Through the merger with Compaq in 2002, HP continued to expand their dominance in the computer market. The company sub-divided into various divisions, one of which is HP Home & Home Office Store, allowing them to service a broader audience. HP has a worldwide presence with locations in United States, Canada, Asia and Europe.

Sister Divisions

HP Home & Home Office Store is a division of HP that caters to individuals and home offices. The company’s sister divisions include Small & Medium Business, Large Enterprise Business and Government, Health & Education.

Charities

Through the Employee Cash Matching Program, HP matches the donations made by their employees and contributes to charitable organizations. Some of the non-profit organizations that HP supports include America’s Charities, Community Health Charities, Earth Share and United Way.

Environmental Direction

HP Home & Home Office Store takes many steps toward reducing their carbon footprint. They have a Trade-In program that allows customers to bring in their electronics, and the company recycles HP printer cartridges and computer hardware from any brand.

Plus, they also offer many products that are Energy Star approved to help reduce energy consumption.
