National Frozen Food Day – I’m not going to bash frozen food because there is some of it which is pretty delicious. The obvious – ice cream. Moving down the list, we have those frozen food dinners that get such a bad rap. They save people tons of time trying to figure out what to eat for lunch and dinner. Nowadays, there are so many meal options out there and they look pretty appetizing. Keep in mind, frozen food wouldn’t have been possible if it weren’t for the freezer so check out Overstock for your refrigeration needs. Save $20 on LG, Sanyo and Edgestar refrigerator and freezer combos on orders of $500 or more when you use Overstock coupons.

National Salesperson Day – Me and salespeople, meh, not such a great mix! I could never bring myself to work retail. Every time I tried, I’d find some excuse not to work there. It’s not my forte! Consequently, this led to my rocky relationship with salespeople…especially shoe salespeople. And thus, that’s why I like to be my own salesperson. I show myself around the store, I tell myself what looks good on me and what doesn’t and I thank myself for shopping. Or I turn to heels.com and shop online. Save 10% on shoes by Jessica Simpson, BCBG and Steve Madden on orders of $75 or more when you use heels.com coupons.

National Battery Day – People may think having a whole day about batteries is useless. We need and depend on batteries, people! How else would we be connected to our cell phones, laptops, cars and other things if it weren’t for batteries? I find it useful how batteries cater to different needs. For example, you wouldn’t necessarily use your camera batteries in your laptop because there is a separate battery for your laptop. If you’re running low on batteries or need to give your car a power boost, check out Overstock. Save $20 on laptop batteries, car batteries and chargers on orders of $500 or more when you use Overstock coupons.

Inauguration Day - Now I bet you’re thinking, “Stars, Inauguration Day is far from a ’silly holiday.’” And you’re totally right, folks! You’re witnessing history in the making. This Inauguration Day is unlike any other. Unless you’ve been out of the loop for the past two years, you would know that the world is experiencing some tough times and some very influential people have stepped up to the plate to bring some change to the United States of America. In November, the people spoke and decided to make Barack Obama their new president.

Today, Obama’s presidency will officially begin. He will become the symbol for peace and change. No doubt this new president will bring about many new firsts and great things for the American people. The support both nationally and globally is a sign of good things to come. January is month of new beginnings; however, it’s also a time to see things, the world and each other differently. If you’re looking to see your picture in a new way, check out Overstock. Save $20 on Panasonic, Toshiba and Sharp televisions on orders of $500 or more when you use Overstock coupons.

Rid the World of Fad Diets and Gimmicks Day – Today’s second holiday is all about the myths of dieting. This is such a popular topic and it seems that everyone has their own views and opinions when it comes to shedding pounds. Basically, a fad diet is one that is a quick fix. Growing up, I used to hear ridiculous things like wearing a garbage bag around your waist while jogging to help you sweat and lose weight. I hate those silly celebrity diets you hear them promote. Face it – you’re not going to look your favorite rock hard celebrity because it’s their job to look like that.

You may be sick of hearing that it takes a combination of working out and eating right to see the results; however, its the truth! I know how it feels. Lately, I’ve been reading up on eating the right foods and cutting certain foods out of my diet that produce fat in the areas I don’t want! It’s all about dedication and training your mind to want to lose the weight and keep it off. So on today’s holiday, I suggest you check out Foot Locker. Save 15% on Nike and Adidas apparel and footwear. Follow these step by step instructions on how to use Foot Locker coupons.

January 8th Holidays – OK Class, Listen up! Today Is “Show & Tell!” I’m Showing & Telling You to Save $5 at Overstock & Target!

Show and Tell Day at Work – Well, this is quite funny, isn’t it? Show and Tell is an integral activity in elementary school. So does it make any sense to you why we have to participate in this activity at work? YES! Personally, I think it would be fun if offices participated collectively in these types of activities. Speaking to some of my coworkers, they couldn’t agree more. I’m sure you’re pretty confused still why you should show and tell one of your most prized possessions at work. I know you might think people might not care, but trust me, they will. And it doesn’t have to be anything big. Well, it can be, that’s up to you. Since we’re in the beginning of the month, straight from the holidays, I’m sure you have plenty of new gadgets and clothes too you still need to sport. So do that today! Do a stroll around the office while you’re on break and show and tell. If people look at you in a weird way, tell them about this holiday, and depending on how fun your office is, you could continue show and tell tomorrow, which is a Friday, so everyone can use some fun! If you’re one of those people who gets money in your stocking and haven’t been able to do any shopping yet, discover deals at Overstock. Save $5 on discount Canon digital cameras, Apple iPods and palm pilots on orders of $100 or more when you use Overstock coupons.

Bubble Bath Day – Doesn’t this sound fantastic? A nice hot and relaxing bubble bath, just you and your favorite person – YOU! If you’re getting back in the swing of things or have been stressed lately, then it’s time to chill out and allow your senses to be calmed. Sure I may not love bubble baths; however, I could use a nice break. Bubble baths are meant to be boring. Hence, they require you to do nothing. If you’re a busy bee like me who hates being bored, then bubble baths are a little scary. It’s just you and soap and water. AHH. What will we do? Well, ever since I was little, I developed a little activity to keep me occupied during bath time. I didn’t want to get my Barbie dolls wet, so I’d use shampoo bottles and pretend they were Barbies. Think Adam Sandler in Billy Madison. At least it entertained me for the time I was in the bath. My point is: the hustle and bustle of everyday life can get to you after a while. It’s important that you take some time to bring your body and life into normal speed. You can’t walk around like Jim Carrey all the time. Somebody stop him for real! Well, back to the holiday, there’s not much else you can do except enjoy some peaceful serenity today. Best part of taking a bath is what you get to wrap yourself in after – luxurious towels from Target. Save $5 on cotton towel sets, monogrammed towels and bath essentials on orders of $50 or more when you use Target coupons.

December 23rd Holidays – Happy Festivus, Everybody! Take a Trip Down Memory Lane by Stocking up on Seinfeld DVD’s from Overstock & Save $5!

Festivus – OK, so I’ve heard the word Festivus once or twice before writing and researching this holiday; however, I had no idea it was this big. Festivus gained popularity from the hit TV show, Seinfeld. Festivus was the idea of the show’s scriptwriter, Daniel O’Keefe. This real-life experience was then adapted into the show and appeared in the Seinfeld episode “Strike.” It is celebrated on December 23rd as a backlash to the commercialization of Christmas. In the show, Frank Constanza, George’s dad, tells how he created the holiday as a result of an incidence that occurred while trying to buy George a Christmas present. Another man reached for the same doll which infuriated Frank to the point of creating the alternative holiday “Festivus, For the Rest of Us.” It actually gets more comical. On Festivus, it is tradition not to have a tree; rather, a Festivus pole. It is also common to “Air out Your Grievances” and tell everyone how they disappointed you throughout the year. This episode is pretty hilarious and kind of makes me want to get back into the show. If you’re looking to get your hands on DVD sets from your favorite old TV shows, check out Overstock. Save $5 on Seinfeld DVD season sets from all 10 seasons on orders of $100 or more when you use Overstock coupons.

December 18th – This Day in History – “Some days I’m a Super Girl, Out to Save the World, and It Keeps Getting Better…” It’s Christina’s birthday today! Head over to Beauty.com for great products to mimic her classic 50s girl look.

December 18th – It was on this day in history in 1719 that Thomas Fleet published Mother Goose’s Melody for Children. I remember that a lot of the books from my childhood had morals or lessons within them that I’d learn. Take The Little Red Hen for example (this was my favorite story). There was a hen that was asking all the animals in the barn if they’d help her make bread, but none of them offered a helping hand. So, after she baked the bread and the delicious scent enticed the barn animals, she asked them if they’d help her eat it and they all jumped on the opportunity. The best part is: she didn’t share with them because they didn’t help her make it; I love that ending! There are tons of stories out there that provide such lessons for children. A slew of these types of books can be located at HearthSong. Visit them today and use our free HearthSong coupons to save up to 70% at the HearthSong outlet.

1849 – William Bond Obtains 1st Photograph of Moon Through a Telescope – There are some nights in the summer when the moon looks so big and close. I can sit on my porch and watch it for hours. But getting a picture of the moon at the perfect angle, when it’s full and extremely white, that would be awesome. Of course, high-resolution cameras with high-zoom features would be needed. For those of you that want to capture that perfect shot, head over to Overstock for great prices on brand name cameras like Canon, Sony, Nikon, Toshiba, Panasonic and many more! Use out free Overstock coupons for $5 off orders of $100 or more.

Famous Birthday

Christina Aguilera, 28 – I love that sexy and classic 50s look she has going on now. That huge, silky platinum blond hair with big loose curls, pearl-white foundation, light pinkish-hue blush, and then those shockingly red pouty lips. She looks like a contemporary Marilyn Monroe! If you want to sport that classy 50s chic look, then head over to Beauty.com for reddest of red lipsticks, whitest of blond hair coloring products, and softest of pink blushes! Be sure to redeem our exclusive Beauty.com coupons for $10 off purchases of $60 or more!

National Noodle Ring Day – Does this remind you of anything? Remember all those times you were a kid and your parents would try to make you eat your noodles and the only way you’d eat was if you pretended they were rings? My nephew and I still do this, and we’re probably the only people who still do! Nonetheless, noodle rings are pretty cool, and they were no doubt a part of your childhood. I know you’re not supposed to use food as toys; however, it’s sometimes hard not to. Take the noodle ring for example. Whether cooked or not, they’re fun to decorate your fingers with and show ‘em off. Then when you get a little hungry, you don’t have to go far to find food. Bada ching! Thank you, thank you. I also used to do this with broccoli. I often pretended they were little trees. That was really the only way I’d eat my food. I’d have to have a game for everything!  Well, if you’re all grown up now and don’t want to put noodle rings on your fingers, then I’m sure you’ll find something worth it at Ice.com. Save 20% on diamond rings, gemstone rings, sterling silver and white gold rings and more when you use Ice.com coupons.

International Mountain Day – When I look at the title of today’s second holiday, it makes me want to sing that oldie “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough.” I’ll spare you on my singing and tell you about the significance of today’s holiday. International Mountain Day was started in 2003 by the UN in the efforts of sustaining mountain development. Each year, a new theme is announced. This year’s theme focuses on the food shortages and lack of nutritious food choices mountain people have access to. If there’s any way you could support today’s holiday in your own community, then please do so. Personally, I’ve always had a huge fascination with mountains. I don’t get to see them on a regular basis, so when I’m on vacation and see them, I take sooo many pictures. You should see my collection at home! On International Mountain Day, there are really many ways you can celebrate. Take a hike, take a drive or take some pictures which is my favorite thing to do. Check out Overstock and browse the huge selection of digital cameras. Save $5 on discount Canon, Fuji and Kodak digital cameras on orders of $100 or more when you use Overstock coupons.

Shopping Day Reminder – It’s here folks, the official countdown to the holidays has begun! And want to know the saddest part of that? You have yet to eat your turkey! Ugh. Well, yes it is one month to the day of the biggest gift giving and receiving holiday. I’m assuming today the stores and malls will look like a circus show – chaotic and crowded. If everyone rushes to the stores at the same time on the same day, then how will you get anything done? I say start shopping as early as possible, preferably when the holidays are the farthest thing from anyone’s mind. Maybe this is unrealistic to you because a new product, toy or bag might come out that you just HAVE to buy for that special person. That’s understandable. So why not do some online shopping today? I’m sure you don’t need an excuse or a reminder to shop, so today I’m going to direct you to deals at Overstock and Limoges Jewelry.

  • Overstock Coupons$5 off discount Apple iPods, BCBG apparel and accessories & Fuji digital cameras on orders of $100 or more
  • Limoges Jewelry Coupons10% off personalized rings, watches, pendants & more!

National Parfait Day – MmMm…c’est parfait! Sounds perfect right about now! However, since this weekend I discovered that I moved up a size in jeans, I’m trying to lay off the sweets. I may have taken some of these sweet food holidays a little too seriously, and now I’m paying the consequences. Nonetheless, there is such a thing as a healthy parfait, so if I’m really feeling the urge for sweetness tonight, that’s exactly what I’m going to whip up! First you need to know what it consists of to make it, right? OK, a parfait is basically layers of ice cream, syrup, fruit and topped with whipped cream and a cherry. It sounds more like a sundae.  Now, since I want something a little healthier, I’m going to replace the ice cream with yogurt and add some granola and keep the fruit. That sounds so much better! See, it looks like you can enjoy great food while you’re trying to lose some weight. And that’s exactly the motto of NutriSystem. Receive 3 free weeks of food with a 28 auto delivery program when you use NutriSystem coupons.
