November 20th - It was on this day in history in 1969 that Pele scored his 1000th soccer goal. That’s a lot of goals considering how challenging it usually is to get through defenders, while trying to remain onside, and looking for the best possible angle to make sure that ball’s placed perfectly for a goal. To do all that 1000 times is a huge accomplishment in my eyes. If your passion for soccer is as intense as Pele’s, then make your way over to Dicks Sporting Goods today for the best soccer gear like cleats, shin guards, apparel and much more. Redeem exclusive Dicks Sporting Goods coupons to score a 15% discount!

1981 - Ringo Releases Stop and Smell the Roses Album - When I’m overtired and visit my doctor to make sure everything’s alright, she smiles at me and says: “Everything’s fine; you just need to learn to relax. Stop and smell the roses, ya know?” Well, I’d love to stop and smell the rose but then my nose tickles, my eyes get inflamed, my throat feels extremely scratchy…and who has time to stop and smell roses anyway? I’m kidding. The message my doctor was relaying to me is the same that’s in this song: our lives are insanely busy, and we often forget to sit back and take a breather sometimes. So, if you’re not a floral-type person, then light some scented candles in your home and put on a nature-sounds CD or some slow jazz. Get all these relaxing products at Target for $5 off when you spend $50 or more. Just redeem free Target coupons to claim this hot offer.

November 18th - It was on this day in history in 1963 that Bell Telephone introduced the push-button telephone. It makes me feel pretty old, but I used to have that phone for years! I’m so glad Bell came up with the push-button phone; my index finger was getting tired. To equip your home or home office with the best phones, shop at Target for a huge selection of wall phones, cordless phones & even novelty phones like Garfield, Mickey Mouse or Betty Boop! Loosen up, Lighten up Day - Hey…it’s FRIDAY. You heard the holiday…Loosen up, Lighten up! It’s the end of the week, and you get to spend your whole weekend relaxing. You deserve it after working so hard, day in and day out. So just loosen up and lighten up a little. Don’t be soo tense, you know? Did you sense the sarcasm in my voice? Well, I know it could be a little annoying when people tell you to do one or both of these things…and at the same time? How dare they! Really, I don’t like being told to lighten up or loosen up. I’d rather do it at my own pace. So maybe we can interpret this holiday in a different way. It’s the weekend so in order to really live out our weekend to the fullest, we should put everything to the back burner and live it (whatever you find yourself doing) up! Sounds like loads of fun. If you’re like me and your idea of loosening and lightening up is relaxing in the comfiest clothes watching TV or a good movie, then I’ve got a special treat for you waiting for you at Hanes. Save 15% on discount Hanes apparel, intimates and basic essentials for the whole family when you use Hanes coupons.

National American Teddy Bear Day - Aw…teddy, we meet again! Today is quite different though because today is teddy’s birthday. He’s said to be 103 years old. Since we’re celebrating the American Teddy Bear, it’s important to shed light on where exactly the first teddy bear originated. It was back in 1902. President (Teddy) Roosevelt went hunting and while he was the most unsuccessful hunter, other members of his team decided to tie a bear cub to a tree and encouraged the President to take shots at it (how awful). Roosevelt refused and spared the cub’s life. A journalist wrote an article about it and included a rough sketch of what he thought the bear looked like. It was then that a store owner’s wife asked her husband to stitch a bear to resemble the bear in the sketch. From then on, the first stuffed bear was called “Teddy’s Bear,” in honor of the President. And that, my friends, is how the American teddy bear was created. Today on National American Teddy Bear Day, I say you check out Target for amazing deals. Save $5 on Fisher-Price teddy bears, plush teddy bears and teddy blankets on orders of $50 or more when you use Target coupons.

Death/Duty Day - As everyone should know today is Remembrance Day or Veteran’s Day which commemorates the end of World War I in 1918 as well pays tribute to those who lost their lives while serving their country. Death/Duty Day is similar in that it brings attention to those who died while on duty. No doubt, this happens still to this day and affects everyone equally as it did back then. Sometimes it’s harder to ask yourself if you have the courage to fight for your country like so many innocent men and women did back then when times and conditions were harder. I can’t imagine what it would be like to be separated from family for so long not knowing if I’d see them again, so I am truly gracious and thankful that there are such men and women in the world who perform these selfless acts to give other people a chance to live in a peaceful world. If you know someone who fought in any war or know someone who lost someone because of it, check out Fleurop. Save 5% on discount international flower delivery of flower arrangements, bouquets and sympathy baskets when you use Fleurop coupons.

National Vanilla Cupcake Day - Now while I am a huge fan of chocolate, I won’t turn down any kind of cupcake, that’s for sure! Cupcakes are my ultimate indulgence, and I could eat ‘em all day which is why I refrain from baking them often. Today, you’re fully encouraged to eat as many cupcakes as you want in as little or as many bites as you want…all day long. I’ve been waiting for a holiday like this! There is really no main reason why we’re celebrating today’s holiday except for the fact that the inventors of silly holidays looked at the November calendar and thought “hmm, there’s really not enough dessert holidays in November.” Hey, no one is complaining here! Now, if you haven’t baked in a while, today would be a great way to bake a batch of cupcakes for yourself, family or if your child needs them for a bake sale. The advantage of making your own cupcakes is that you can frost them with whatever kind of icing you like! For everything you need to make award-winning cupcakes, check out Target. Save $5 on Calphalon cupcake tins, Oneida cupcake carriers and Cupcakes ‘N More Stands on orders of $50 or more when you use Target coupons.

September 16th Holidays - Thanks Mom & Dad for Working so You Could Buy Me Play-Doh! Now We Can Buy Our Own & Save $5 at Target!

Working Parents Day - Ohh, one of society’s most debated issues. I’m not sure who developed ideas around working parents not being ‘good parents’ because in my eyes, aren’t they good parents because they get up every morning, go to work and put food on the table? Well it is; however, what’s changed is now there is much more guilt put on working parents. I had working parents, and they raised me and my sister just fine, and we’re pretty normal (define normal). We didn’t make them feel bad for missing an event or game because they always put us before work. Nowadays, it’s harder for parents to manage both spheres, and hopefully overtime this is something that will change! I say that today on Working Parents Day, kids (no matter how old you are) should show appreciation for your parents and their motivation for getting up every morning to go to work for YOU! Say thank you by giving them something they’ll appreciate…a VACATION from Orbitz. Save an additional 10% on a discounted hotel stay in the Caribbean, Hawaii or Europe when you use Orbitz coupons.

National Play-Doh Day - There’s no doubt Play-Doh had a huge impact on everyone’s childhood. Everything about this “modeling clay” (which is a fancier word for Play-Doh) is so childlike. What are your fondest memories of Play Doh? I personally loved its smell. Every time a can of Play-Doh opened in a classroom, everyone would flock to the kid with the Play-Doh! It just amazes me how other toys have came and went and there are certain toys that define an era like LEGO in the 80’s and Tickle Me Elmo in the 90’s; however, this toy is one that never goes out of style. Something that my parents played with as kids, I also played with and so too will my nephew when he is old enough. I say you rekindle your love with Play-Doh and head to Target for the newest Play-Doh sets. Save $5 on discounted Play-Doh play sets and art caddies including the Ice Cream Shoppe (my favorite!) when you use Target coupons and spend $50 or more.

1843 - Charles Thurber Patents Typewriter - What a genius! Now men courting women wouldn’t suffer from hand cramps from writing so many love letters and poems that profess their love. What? So I’ve read a little too many romance novels in my time. I can still dream, can’t I?  I’m telling you, I know you may feel cheesy doing it, but write a short letter to the woman you love and she’ll be swept right off her feet, I promise. And I don’t mean text messaging, people! Write her a little message on stationery paper from Expressionery.com and watch her eyes sparkle as they skip from one word to the next. Macaulay Culkin, 27 - He starred in the fun family movie Home Alone. He was the cute little blond boy who was accidentally left behind when his family went on a Christmas vacation. Although they felt horrible, he was fiiiiiine…eating whatever he wanted, staying up late.  He even fended off two famous burglars with hilarious traps positioned throughout the house. This movie is filled with moments that’ll get the whole family laughing. ‘Till this day, it’s still a popular choice to pop into the DVD player during the holidays. If you want to keep this movie handy for a great family movie night, then head over to Target. August 18th - It was on this day in history in 1967 that the Rolling Stones released the song We Love You.  Mick Jagger was quite the looker back then, but now he’s kinda scary looking. I don’t know if it’s because he stayed up way too late for many nights in his lifetime, or that he just doesn’t age nicely. If he used skincare products from Zirh for men throughout the years, he’d look years younger today. Head over there now and save 16% with Zirh coupons when you spend $20 or more.

1988 - Largest House with 130 Rooms Sold for $22 Million - That was my house!  It was…in my dream last night. Although, it wouldn’t be too expensive if I were to shop at Overstock.com. For low-priced furniture & home decor, use Overstock.com coupons and save $10 when you spend $150 or more.

Denis Leary, 51 - If you ever need a good laugh, Denis Leary is the best medicine for ya. August 15th - It was on this day in history in 1848 that the dental chair was patented.  I hated that chair as a child…I feared it like a convict fears the electrical chair. I guess the idea was to create something more comfortable for people to sit in while they get their teeth pulled out or drilled…how nice. But there is one thing I fear more than the dental chair, and that’s not having dental insurance.
